The University of Miami Summer Scholars: AI, Cybersecurity and Computing program is a college-level course designed for high school students completing grades 10 or 11. Participants will delve into Artificial Intelligence, learning how machines think and make decisions, and explore Cybersecurity, mastering strategies for data protection and defense against digital threats. The program also focuses on building strong computing skills, from programming fundamentals to problem-solving techniques. Through hands-on projects, real-world applications, guest lecturers, open discussions, lab work, and field trips, students gain practical experience and earn six college credits. The curriculum includes two courses: ECE 100 (Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering) and ECE 123 (Explorations in Engineering), both offering 3 credit hours. The program aims to provide an immersive experience that prepares students for college and future careers in technology.
Classes are held daily, Monday through Friday, with a morning session from 8:10 AM to 11:40 AM and an afternoon session from 1:10 PM to 4:40 PM.
