About this camp

The FIU CS-STEAM Summer Camp offers an immersive experience for students interested in computer programming, 3D modeling, robotics, animations, and mathematics/logic games. Participants will engage in hands-on activities such as building and wiring robots, then coding them using Robot-C language to tell stories and confirm code soundness. The curriculum also includes spatial visualization, 3D printing (dimensioning, scaling, and design), math/logic games, encryption using pixelation and the binary system, and block coding with Scratch. Students will also explore Python coding and experience virtual reality in the I-CAVE lab. Once per week, campers will visit an engineering lab on campus, providing practical exposure to real-world applications of their learned skills. The camp aims to develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaborative skills through engaging projects and activities.
