About this camp

This iD Tech BattleBots® Camp offers teens an immersive experience in robotics engineering. Participants will learn to customize, build, and wire a robot base using the VEX Robotics Design System. The curriculum emphasizes designing custom attachments like claw arms or battering rams and programming robot controllers with VEXcode C++. Throughout the week, students will tackle a variety of challenges, including racing, obstacle courses, and capture the flag, continuously optimizing their robot's hardware and software. The camp culminates in a BattleBots®-style championship, providing a hands-on opportunity to apply learned skills in a competitive environment. Students will gain practical experience in mechanical engineering principles, C++ programming, and teamwork, preparing them for future STEM pursuits.

What a typical day looks like

A typical day includes 5 hours of instruction in labs, 2 hours of outdoor activities and socializing, and up to 1 hour of flex time for project refinement or breaks.
