The University of Miami Summer Scholars Program in AI, Cybersecurity & Computing is a three-week residential program designed for high school students completing 10th or 11th grade who are eager to explore cutting-edge fields in technology. Students will dive into Artificial Intelligence, learning how machines think and make decisions, and uncover the secrets of Cybersecurity, mastering strategies to protect data and defend against digital threats. The program also builds strong computing skills, from programming fundamentals to problem-solving techniques. Participants earn six college credits through two college-level courses, structured around hands-on experiences, guest lecturers, open discussions, and lab work. Students will engage with distinguished UM faculty and develop a portfolio in digital format illustrating their work.
Classes are held daily, Monday through Friday, with a morning session from 8:10 AM to 11:40 AM and an afternoon session from 1:10 PM to 4:40 PM. Students also have coursework to complete outside of class during evenings and on weekends.
This program is ideal for high school sophomores and juniors who are active in their communities, leaders in their schools, and examples of integrity, and who are looking to explore academic passions in AI, cybersecurity, and computing while gaining college experience.
